Tavolàta claim is that they are all about pasta—from Rigatoni to Casarecce, Conchiglie to Linguini. And the pasta is freshly made every day.
We started with two antipasti dishes:
- Soft Cooked Eggs – Olive Oil Poached Tuna, Pickled Red Onion, Chili Aioli
- Duck Liver Crostini – Pickled Vegetables, Balsamic
Both were very, very delicious. I wanted the eggs again this morning for breakfast! (And for those of you who know I am not an egg lover, that is really saying something!)
For the main course. I have to admit my mouth watered when I opened the menu…when do you get the opportunity to choose between two gnocchi dishes? Am I in heaven, or what? The choices:
- Gnocchi alla Romana – Semolina, Mozzarella, Tomato
- Potato Gnocchi – Cauliflower, Golden Raisin, Mint
Our waiter described both options and I settled on the Potato version. More than anything, I was more familiar with that version and it would allow me to rank the dish with my favorite gnocchi experiences. And, yes, I would eat this again. Although next time I will try the alla Romana option. And repeat the antipasti. Yes, FABULOUS!
