Giving Thanks

Within a few days of our wedding, Bill was already planning our firs holiday meal. He volunteered to host Thanksgiving dinner.

In true Bill fashion, he laid out a spread of nibbles:

  • A trio of cheeses
  • Olives and almonds
  • House-made duck confit
  • Onion and goat cheese tart with Bailie’s freshmade pesto

When we sat down to our first meal served on our new China, we feasted on:

  • Smoked turkey breast
  • Stuffed pork loin
  • The traditional mashed potatoes and gravy
  • Green beans
  • Fresh cranberry and citrus sauce
  • And we forgot to serve the squash

And for dessert, a trio of choices

  • Chocolate hazelnut tart
  • Pecan pie topped with fresh whip cream
  • And the Shultz family tradition:  Blackberry pie
